Annual Backpack Outreach Project

Each year Holy Spirit Contributes Backpacks to our local Keystone Opportunity Center for local families with children in need of backpacks for back to school. The project is happening a little earlier and in a new format this year, but we welcome your participation in any way you can!

Now through Sunday July 19th, we are collecting new backpacks, no need for filling them, as well as $5 and $10 Walmart or Staples gift cards (only these businesses please as they are local to our families). Keystone will distribute these at a family event Sunday afternoon, July 26th at Grace Community Church. Holy Spirit Choir Members on the Move this summer!

While regular choir rehearsals have taken a summer break, our singers continue to be involved in singing in worship, at funerals, out in the community and away at conferences!

RSCM DC

This Sunday we send off Chris Detweiler and Rick Alderfer to an RSCM Course in Washington DC. The course we attended for 20 years in Wilkes-barre, The Kings College Course, never was able to reopen after pandemic. We are finally begining to get folks out the door to one of the few courses still ongoing. The course is housed at Episcopal High School which adjoins the campus of Virginia Theological Seminary. Here is the service schedule for their week. Creating Children’s Worship Bags continues!

We are in the process of replacing our 'busy bags' with personalized 'Worship bags' for all our children. Each child will be assisted to create their own worship bag and each Sunday you bring your children they will now have their very own bag, with their name, that only they use each week. The bags live at church and over time will have new items added as appropriate to particular seasons and Sundays.

If your children have not yet had a chance to put together their very own bag, you can do so during coffee hour through the summer.. Special Guest bags are available until your children create their own. Angela Bartholomew will keep an eye out during July for children who haven't yet created bags and assist you in making them.

Church of the Holy Spirit Presence at Market Days!

While we spend a few summer weeks creating Warm Fuzzies - we'll share them at local events like Souderton—Third Friday and Telford Market Nights, We will set up a COHS table and give away “warm fuzzies”.

Warm fuzzies! Help needed through the summer!

In an effort to reach out to new families, we need your help making warm fuzzies!

Here are the ways you can help:

  • Make warm fuzzies at home: Pick up yarn and instructions at church in the basket in the coat closet area. Please bring warm fuzzies (aka pompoms) back any time from now through July 12th and put them in the basket.  You can make them as in the video at right or you can make them this way.

  • Make them with us at church: Join us as a group to make warm fuzzies during coffee hour (sign up here for the dates).

  • Join us at Souderton Third Fridays: We are scheduled to be at Souderton Third Fridays on 6-9 PM on July 17, August 21, and September 18.. Volunteers are needed - sign up here

Please use this form to sign up to help make warm fuzzies either at home or at church and to sign up to volunteer at Souderton Third Fridays.
