Chris Uhland bio: Local arborist and nurseryman, Christopher Uhland, lives in Schwenksville, with his wife and two teen daughters and nursery dog, Iris.. He owns and manages Harmony Hill Nursery in Downingtown and more recently acquired Tulpehocken Nursery in Reading. He has been involved in agriculture since his childhood. His formal education was focused on environmental science and ornamental horticulture with an interest in arboriculture and nursery production. Chris' professional career had him start in plant propagation and production and has lead him through all the facets into business management and developing new ventures in Consulting Arboriculture and ornamental cut stems for the floral industry.
Chris's will to succeed, strong work ethic, continuing to learn and share his knowledge with his teams are reasons he has found success. The last decade he has been appointed to sit on Pennsylvania Gov. Corbet and Gov. Wolf’s DEP Agriculture Advisory Boards, PLNA’s Board of Directors along with numerous other local committees and organizations to offer his leadership and knowledge. His work is in propagation, production, pruning, appraisal, risk assessment, promotion, street trees, marketing & sales and ANSI Standards for plant material. Chris is always looking to give back to the community through education, consulting in community planting projects, donating trees, speaking at 4H camps, colleges, and more. After his love for his family and all things trees, he's an avid Phillies and Reading Fighting Phils fan and has an interest in antique tractors and agricultural equipment.
